Kaia Foods sent me a selection of their products to try which included:
- organic buckwheat granola Made with sprouted buckwheat, sprouted walnuts, sprouted sunflower seeds, sprouted pumpkin seeds, coconut, ground flax seeds, and agave nectar, plus dried fruits and seasonings – our innovative buckwheat granola is delicious as a snack or as a cereal!
- organic fruit leathers To make our fruit leathers we puree whole organic fruits and dehydrate them at low temperatures, without adding sugars or concentrates. Yum!
- And their new Organic Sprouted Pumpkin Seeds
I have tried the Kaia Foods organic sprouted sunflower seeds as well awhile back and am glad to say that our local health food store finally carries them because they are delicious especially the sweet curry and teriyaki sprouted sunflower seeds. The Hubz and I like to take them on vacations – they are a great snack and easy to carry around.
The Hubz loved the buckwheat granola Cocoa Bliss; he loved it so much that it was all gone before I even got a chance to try it. However he did report back that it was tasty and reminded him of that sugary chocolate cereals which he loved as a child. It even made his almond milk nice and chocolately.
The fruit leathers were the item I was most excited to try but honestly were my least favorite of all of the products. I felt like they were super dried out and tough to eat. I also really didn’t enjoy the flavors I tried very much- the lime ginger was just too gingery for me. The Hubz tried the Vanilla Pear though and really like it.
Lastly we tried the organic sprouted pumpkin seeds which I was excited to try because I loved the sunflower seeds so much. We tried the salt and vinegar and orange & spice. I thought that the salt and vinegar were good but they weren’t what I had imagined; they just didn’t have a strong salt and vinegar flavor. I didn’t love the orange & spice but I am more of a salty treat person than a sweet.
Overall the Hubz and I loved the sunflower seeds (which we have been eating for months now) and the buckwheat granola. We also enjoyed the pumpkin seeds but they weren’t our favorite. Lastly, we didn’t really enjoy the fruit leathers, they just weren’t for us.
