{Pregnancy Update} 33 Weeks

How far along are you: 33 Weeks — ONLY 49 DAYS LEFT!!!

How big is the baby: This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He’s rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren’t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don’t entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood. (source)

Baby’s Gender: We both think it’s a boy (most of the time).

Baby’s Name: We have a name for a boy or a girl

Weight Gained: 22-23 lbs

Clothes: My tops are getting shorter and for bottoms I’m pretty much down to leggings. Luckily, I have a few dresses that still work, although I was disappointed to find that two dresses that worked for me before are now WAY too short to be worn in public. I also am on a mission to find a bathing suit this weekend so that I can hopefully get in some swim time at the tennis club (husband gets in free – work perk!).  I plan on only buying a top because my regular bottoms seem to still fit okay and I have little swim skirts I can wear with them so I’d rather not take on the expense of a full tankini and one pieces just look ridiculous on me.

How are you feeling: I am getting tired out really easily now but I am otherwise feeling pretty good.  I have been napping in the afternoon which has really been helping my energy levels and still making sure to get lots of walks in. We have had some crazy heat lately though which really hasn’t helped when I am already tired out though.

What do you miss: I miss running still but what I really miss this week is having my girlfriends around.  My two BFF’s live 5-9 hours away (Toronto and NYC) and right now it would be so nice to have them around while I finish my last trimester and get ready for this baby to come.

Symptoms: Forgetfulness and clumsiness, also known as baby brain, frequent urination, Braxton Hicks contractions (just on long walks when I am slightly dehydrated), dry, brittle nails and due to the heat I have been feeling overheated.

Cravings: WATERMELON. I have eaten so much watermelon in the last week, I just can’t get enough.  Also ranch dip which I am waiting on my order of vegan ranch packets from Kaycee.

How are you sleeping: Sleeping is going fairly well, I get up 4-5 times a night to pee but otherwise doing pretty well.

Workouts: This week I skipped yoga for a much needed nap after a ridiculously busy weekend but I have made sure to get in a number of walks.

Things I’m looking forward to: Our baby shower! Finishing work (only 5 more weeks!!!)

In other news:

I am ready to go shopping for baby but I’m trying to hold off on buying anything off our two registries until the shower.

It finally hit me hard this week that we are having a baby and I need to finish my pre-baby projects because they could be here in as few as four weeks <– my husband keeps reminding me of his because a guy he works with wife just had their first at 36.5 weeks.

We are still on track to launch Naturally Family on June 4th but until then check us out of Facebook and Twitter.

{Pregnancy Update} 32 Weeks

How far along are you: 32 Weeks

How big is the baby: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You’re gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she’ll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth. (source)

Baby’s Gender: We both think it’s a boy err or a girl err boy?

Baby’s Name: We have a name for a boy or a girl

Weight Gained: 21.5 lbs

Clothes: They are getting shorter and snugger. Thank goodness for maxi dresses!

How are you feeling: As I type this I am exhausted but otherwise feeling well.

What do you miss: I still miss running and I miss my pre-pregnancy clothes and being able to lounge around on my back.

Symptoms: Heart burn. Frequent urination.

Cravings: Beans. Veggies. Water. Tempeh Sandwiches.

How are you sleeping:  It changes daily- some days I sleep really well and others just awful.

Workouts: This week I have done walks, yoga and Summer Sanders Pre-natal Workout.

Things I’m looking forward to: Meeting our baby! Finishing the nursery.  Shopping for baby post-baby shower.

In other news:

We bought a glider!

Our family blog is launching in 3 weeks! Until then follow us on twitter and like us on facebook.

{Pregnancy Update} 30 Weeks!

How far along are you: 30 Weeks

How big is the baby: our baby’s about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after she’s born, she’ll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.) (source)

Baby’s Gender: We both think it’s a boy.

Baby’s Name: We have a name for a boy or a girl

Weight Gained: 19 lbs

Clothes:  They still fit but I did pick up one more dress.

How are you feeling: I am feeling pretty good and I’ve actually been sleeping alright lately.  I wake up often to pee and switch sides I sleep on but overall feeling rested. I also have been napping most days.

What do you miss: Running- I have been dreaming about it.

Symptoms: I have to pee all the time. Braxton Hicks Contractions.

Cravings: Veggie burgers. Berries. Oatmeal. Vegan Mac & Cheese. Popsicles.

How are you sleeping: See how are you feeling above.

Workouts: I did lots of walking and cleaning this week.  I did not go to pre-natal yoga but am looking forward to it next week.

Things I’m looking forward to: Starting our birth classes this week. Our baby shower in June.

Sacred Pregnancy by Anni Daulter

This Week–> Sacred Pregnancy Week 30: Nesting

This Week’s focus:

This week’s focus is all about nesting both emotional and physical nesting. “Emotional nesting: “Mama-nesting” means that you are taking the  time to clean out the mental junk that may be hanging out in your  emotional basement. Do some emotional housecleaning, releasing fears about becoming a mother and replacing them with trusting your instincts.

I would say that I have already started nesting both emotionally and physically and I look forward to working on this more this week.
