My Quick Night Skincare Routine + Pacifica Giveaway

quick night routine

Skincare has become really important to me over the past eight months and while I’d like to say that I am religious about doing an extensive night routine the truth is most nights I am rushing to get my face cleaned so that I can hop into bed and hopefully get a few hours of sleep. So unless I am wearing a full face of makeup or I have the forethought to do my full skincare routine hours before bedtime this is my current nighttime skincare routine. night routine pacifica

First I start with one of these facial towelettes from Pacifica. I use the Essential Makeup Removing* wipes (you can find these at Ulta) for those days when maybe I put on a little bit of tinted moisturizer and mascara but nothing else. I primarily use the Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes which I have been buying for months now at Target (side note there is 5% of Pacifica items with the cartwheel app right now until 5/16/15- not sponsored just noticed when I was flipping through the app the other day.)  Both of these wipes are super gentle and easily take off the day.  I also love the coconut smell they both have.

Next I go in with eye cream, serum and nighttime moisturizer. The Palmetto Derma eye cream I got as a deluxe sample in one of my Goodebox’s and I have simply been using it because I have it. I like it fine but it honestly hasn’t ‘wowed’ me so I won’t be repurchasing it at $44+ so when I run out I’ll be adding in a new eye cream – any recommendations? nightroutineskin

After that I go in with my Lotus Wei Quiet Mind Serum* and I put this all over the face, down my neck and behind my ears. This serum smells of geranium, lemon and coriander and combined make a super relaxing sent. This serum (there is also an elixir, mist, and perfume) is a balancing serum made of flower essence. It is suppose to dissolve a busy mind, mental chatter, restless sleep, physical tension (especially neck & shoulders) and over-analyzing. I have been using it regularly for about a month now and I have been feeling more relaxed at bedtime and more rested despite Alder’s need to be nursed all night.

Lastly it is time to hydrate with my Weleda Iris Hydrating Night Cream**. I have combination skin (this cream is good for dry to combo skin) so this has been working well for me especially as the seasons change and my skin tends to get a bit drier. I love how easily is sinks into the skin and it leaves my skin soft. That being said as the seasons change and we get closer to summer my skin ends to get more on the oily side so I’ll probably be swapping this night cream out in a few weeks for a more combo to oily skin formula.

So that’s it! This is my Quick Night Skincare Routine which usually takes me all of three minutes to do. What does your nighttime skincare routine look like when you just can’t be bothered to do a full cleanse?

  1. My nighttime routine is always the same: Cetaphil cleanser, Oil of Olay night cream. Done. I would love to try these products, though! The packaging is beautiful, and I’m curious about the balancing serum and eye cream. Thanks for the giveaway!

    • Sounds like you have a pretty solid routine! I am obsessed with Lotus Wei products and the balancing serum is great for sleep but I also like to use it when I am trying to get “in the zone” for working.

  2. I’m so tired at night that I just quickly lather on some cleanser and then moisturizer (both from Origins). I almost never wear makeup, so when I actually do wear some, I totally forget, and wake up with panda eyes the next morning. Oops.

Those wipes would be awesome for camping!

  3. Unless I workout after work I am extremely negligent on my facecare routine, but towelettes sound like an easy addition… Especially if I put it in my nightstand drawer!

    • It’s taken me a long time to get out of the habit of only washing after a workout and even back then half the time I didn’t. The towelettes definitely have helped me to be better about taking care of my skin!

I almost never remember/have a chance to cleanse at night but I KNOW I need to! I haven’t ever really used wipes before bc I tend to have pretty sensitive skin but am curious about the Pacifica ones. If I remember to cleanse I usually use Honey Girl cream cleanser and follow with Honey Girl Sensitive Face Cream (love love love this cream especially around my eyes). The cleanser is an oil based cleanser with seems counter intuitive but works great especially for a little makeup (I usually only wear tinted moisturizer and cream blush by 100% Pure). You must use a washcloth though! It sounds ridiculous and lame but this is often why I end up skipping cleansing all together. Just too many stops and I am usually so exhausted I just go to bed. Maybe I need to try out some wipes! Also I am sure I should be using an actual eye cream esp as I get older and with the lack of sleep as a parent!

    • I love oil cleansers! I use one when I wear makeup especially when I wear eye makeup – it makes everything wash off so well! I also like a gentle toner to cleanse as well because you just simple put it on a cotton pad and wipe just like a makeup wipe. I’m finding that doing something for me has been better than nothing (like I had been doing for far too long). I used to only wash my face when I took a shower and now I find even the three minute ritual to be nice for taking just a few minutes for myself.

I mostly do nothing but water…which I’m sure is awful. I also use clearasil because my skin still thinks I’m a teenager. I wish the rest of my body did too!

    • Have you tried a facial oil? I know it sound counter intuitive and I thought it was crazy at first but facial oils can actually help balance out the pH in your skin to help reduce breakouts.

  6. Face wipes are a life savor! Especially with a little one I am usually so tired at the end of the day that a good swipe followed by a splash of water and some moisturizer and then I’m off to bed!

  7. Candace

To remove makeup, I use either a face wipe or coconut oil & water on a tissue. Then I wash my face with a Vanicream bar, use witch hazel to moisten my skin before actually using vanicream moisturizer (use thicker one during the winter, thinner in the summer). Lastly I have been putting a thin layer of coconut oil on my chin to help with peeling skin and some acne (which has been working wonders!!).

  8. I love hearing about people’s nightly beauty routines! I am an oil cleansing girl myself, but I have never heard of the brand Pacifica before. I’m excited to enter the giveaway, maybe I’ll get to learn a little more about them through this great goody box. Cheers!

  9. Mel

I usually use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup, then I wash my face with a cream cleanser. I follow with a light moisturizer and eye cream.

  10. Shanna

I’m awful and I use a rotation of brands of whatever face wipes happen to be on sale at Target. I got my boyfriend addicted to face wipes while he was deployed, and now he’s usually the one that remembers to pick them up, though!

  11. Cindy A.

I wash my face with NUDE Skincare Cleansing Jelly, slather on the Advanced Renewal Overnight Repair Mask, and fall into bed.

  12. nicole dziedzic

I wash my face with Derma e, use a astringent, and then a light moisturizer which is always on my night stand. That is pretty much it.

  13. Annie

I use a cleansing oil first, then follow with a mild cleanser. Then, I use a toner –> serum –> facial oil and end with a cream. When I am too tired, I just cleanse once and put on the oil/cream

  14. Kassie

I’m never too tired to do my full skin care routine so I always wash, apply serum and moisturizer to my face, and use an eye cream and lip balm before bed. I’m actually compulsive when it comes to taking care of my skin!

  15. My quick night time cleanse is to wash with a Mario Badescue wash and apply some Kiehl’s moisturizer. In a super hurry I use a make-up remover/face cloth.

  16. Erika W.

I wear eye make-up most days, so I will take it off with an eye make-up remover pad. I usually just wash my face in the shower and then put a moisturizer on after.

  17. gala

My night time routine is usually at least 25 minutes, but sometimes I don’t have any energy or just not in a mood so this product would be a god sends

  18. June Lisle

My night time routine ends up being a clean mouth and some lotion really. I need to take more time on me.

  19. On a lazy/quick night, it would be a wipe over with Aveeno’s Positively Radiant wipes & a quick wash with their Smart Essentials Daily Detox Scrub followed by Olay’s Oil Minimizing Toner.

I always try to get a night cream of some sort on for bed no matter how much I don’t feel like doing it lol, atm it’s Aveeno’s Smart Essentials NightTime Moisture Infusion.

  20. Christy Peeples DuBois

I always wash my face before going to bed but if for some reason I coukdnt I would use a makeup remover wipe. I would love to try these.

  21. Christina M.

If I’m feeling extra tired or lazy, cleansing wipes are amazing. Aloe and coconut oil are loves of mine for quick moisturizing.

  22. sarah s

I really should put more effort into my night time routine since most nights it’s a quick wash and that’s it. I love Pacifica fragrances I haven’t tried any of the other product but they look like something I should look into:)

  23. Leah

If it’s a rough night, I’ll just take a wash cloth and some warm water and try to remove as much makeup as I can that way. I’ll then swipe some ye makeup remover and top off with some moisturizer. I don’t like skipping my clarisonic, toner and serum, but it won’t kill me every once in a while, I guess!

  24. Diana D.

I always do a full cleanse; no matter what. And it’s either Paula’s Choice Moisture Boost Cleanser or CeraVe’s Foaming Cleanser, along with my Clarisonic
